Grace was born to her parents Willie and Della Kittelson on February 18, 1929 in Chippewa County, MN at her parent's home. She had four siblings that are deceased: Delores, Leland, Leona, and twin sister Gloria. She grew up on a farm in Chippewa County (Milan, MN) and moved to Swift County after getting married and lived on a farm in rural Danvers, MN. Her home churches are Swendoa Church (in the country in Swift County-closed in 1961) and West Bank Lutheran (Country church that closed in 1995), and Big Bend Lutheran Church in Hagen, MN.
Grace attended Country School grades 1-8 and Milan High School in MN grades 9-12. She was a farmer's wife. She helped with farm work, cleaning the house, and debeaking turkeys.
Grace married Robert ("Bobby") Marcel Christenson on March 31, 1950. Bobby passed away in November of 1994. They had 3 children; Scott Robert (deceased), Shelly Wahlin (McGregor, MN), and Dan Christenson (Sally) (Dent, MN). Her grandchildren are: Josh Wahlin (Jen), Jesse Wahlin (Alecia), Paige Battle (Carl), Allie Christenson, Ian Christenson, and Noah Christenson. Her great grandchildren are: Taydem and Colby Wahlin (Josh's children), Josie Grace Wahlin (Jesse's children), Phoebe and Loki Battle (Paige's children).
Grace's hobbies include cooking, gardening, drawing, writing letter, arts and crafts.
